In case you were wondering: I do, in fact, accept books for review from publishers and authors alike. And if you're considering me for the job, thank you! However, I do have some guidelines.
What genres do I prefer?
Mostly, I read Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy, but I am open to other genres including, but not limited to: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Contemporary Romance, Thriller, Suspense, New Adult, Humor, and Chick Lit.
DOs & DON'Ts
- I am open to reading/reviewing both Adult and YA titles.
- I am not interested in reading/reviewing non-fiction, biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, etc.
- I am not open to reading/reviewing erotica.
- I accept e-books as well as physical copies (both finished copies and ARCS), though I prefer physical copies and will likely review those before an e-book simply because of availability. (I like to read in school, and teachers get touchy when electronics--my Nook, for example--are out during class.)
- The e-book needs to be in .ePub or .mobi format. PDFs are not preferred.
- If the book is a follow-up to a series, I'll require a copy of the previous books in the series in order to write an accurate review.
- If I am not interested in a book, I reserve the right to refuse your request.
- I publish reviews not only on this blog, but also on Goodreads as well as Library Thing, and am open to publishing them on other sites (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) at the publisher/author's request.
What do I include in the review?
- Title
- Author
- Publisher
- Release Date
- Series Number (If Applicable)
- Synopsis
- Link to Goodreads
- Link for purchase on Amazon
- Cover photo
- My rating (from 1 - 5 stars)
- My review
My rating scale:

Do expect me to give an honest, unbiased review. This means that my reviews will not always be filled with positive, glowing praise.
If you have any questions, have a book review request, want to host a giveaway on this blog, want me to participate in a book tour, or are an author and want to be interviewed, feel free to email me at: readsoverneeds[at]gmail[dot]com.
Also, I'd just like to make a note and say that I do read every single email that I get. If I don't immediately respond, I apologize, but it does take time, especially with all of the books already on my to-read list. I'm not only a book blogger but a student also. I may not review every book I receive. If the book you send doesn't get a review, don't take it personally, it just wasn't for me.
